Thundering horns and twice Jerusalem. The young prophets came calling. They spoke of a canyon and a man who professed Democracy’s church on Earth. Then doubt. Then, nothing. An empty void into which man will flee and not return.
But The Earth is clever, and says to The Sky:
“Man is here, but within time he will be gone. All of man will either return to me as dust or he will leave me behind and flee into you, the Sky.”
And The Sky says to The Earth:
“Man will flee past me into the great black pit where there is void. The void will remain indifferent to man and in that black pit man’s generations will rise and fall.
And the Earth says to the Sky:
“Then there is Hope and it will accompany man. With it man will find a new Earth. But on this new Earth there will be a great diminishing of man. There will be a great sorrow for man. The new Earth and Sky will not recognize man and they will eat man’s wealth and his kin.
The first images from the Radar MRI Satellite of the life on Hera have been released by the Central Authority Ministry of Science. The image shows a 3D radar image that was scanned of, what has been called a fire seeker, animal that displays complex behaviors. Central Authroity scientists are working to capture images of other life on Hera.
Polish science fiction writer Stanislaw Lem put forth an idea that the most efficient organisms were algae and not highly evolved homo sapiens. This idea is predicated upon the notion of how complex the support systems are for the growth and propagation of a particular species. He argued that our idea of evolution is flawed because of the bias toward complexity, and that simplicity as an amalgamation, is a more preferred state and especially so when considering alien life forms, as his novel Solaris tells us. Weather this can be taken seriously by the biological sciences misses the point. What is important to note is that not only our cognitive biases put extreme dampers on our knowledge of what can be considered to be alien life, but our constructs of knowledge itself limits our capacity at comprehending something that is alien. Influenced by these ideas I generated a livable, seemingly familiar, but hostile biosphere on Hera. This in combination of a limited knowledge of spores and microbes led to the utilitarian idea of addressing humanities immunity to an even livable environment with a breathable atmosphere and surface water. I want to incorporate Lem’s idea of a retrograde evolutionarily differentiation by having all of the organisms with a high level of sentience through their organic communication, in that the biosphere is chemically and sonically connected across all species.
In accordance with a joint resolution by the Ministry of Science and the Salon a new official time accounting system has been developed. the new system is based upon an “After Kennedy” time sequence instead of B.C. and A.D. Scholars at the independent scientific union filed an objection and called the change; “a debasement of fact and an ill conceived effort by the propaganda ministries to cover up recent significant discoveries.” The new time accounting system is featured on the new stamp that was released today.
The ministry of Science has released a commemorative stamp for the Almaz 10 program. The release coincides with the landing of the K-39 Ice Moon Probe and its official recognition to the Salon.
According to the Ministry of Science the K-39 ice moon lander probe has already landed on Hera’s moon. The lander sent this image of the landing site. From this image Central Authority scientists speculate that the moons atmosphere is as dense as Mars, perhaps a few milibars higher. From preliminary findings, the atmosphere contains water, ammonia ice crystals, and methane. The source of the dense fog that is present on the moon’s surface is a bit of a mystery.
Recently declassified data that the Salon was able to procure regarding the discovery of Hera revealed this stunning image of a Soyuz 4H station orbiting Hera. Central Authority Ministry of Science adapted several Soyuz 4H space craft to function as an orbiter which is to house several crew members during the Summer of 2008.
According to the Central Authority Ministry of Science a mission is being planned to send a lander, K-39, to Hera’s ice moon. A tentative landing site has been planned on a wide basin, an ancient volcanic caldera, near the moon’s equator. Cental Authority hopes to establish several aims, to determine the density of the moon’s atmosphere and to scout a landing site for future missions. The probe is equiped with spectrometers and a wide angle high resolution camera.
After the Ministry of Science released all of the images from the malfunctioning Mars Climate Orbiter, (see the Hera page fro more details), a new moon has been discovered orbiting Hera. The image shows a massive glacier covering roughly 80% of the moon and there appears to be a thin atmosphere as well, the slight glow around the moon. There are also meteor impacts on the surface and judging from the spacing of the visible craters the moons surface appears to be relatively young, perhaps just a few million years old.
